Video Projects

Two female farming friends, Suy Vy (50) and Morn Ho (52) both live and work in the Stae Pou village (located in the Srae Nouy commune and the Varin district of the Siem Reap province) that was once a riddled minefield prior to APOPO coming out to clear the land of hidden mines and UXOs.

Each of them had lived in fear for not only their safety while working but that of their children. Since the mine clearings they now have the opportunity to live free from the burden of landmines and continue to raise their children and cultivate the land.

In his early twenties Lang Tao (49) had an unfortunate encounter with a landmine, ultimately leaving him to become an above-knee (AK) amputee and another victim of Cambodia’s landmine issue. Living in the Knar Pthoul village (located in the Srae Nouy commune and the Varin district of the Siem Reap province)with his wife and four children, he had worked hard in order to provide for them while still living amongst hidden landmines.

With the help of APOPO, Lang and his family are free from the dangers of landmines. They continue to live and farm in the same area, but no longer have to worry about landmines.

A short video documentary about the organisation, APOPO and how their work has helped communities throughout Cambodia by extracting hidden land-mines and unexploded ordnances (UXOs).
