Acknowledgement of Country

Alexandra Mendoza Media respectfully acknowledges the traditional custodians of the country throughout Australia and their enduring connection to land, sea, and community.

We acknowledge that our place of residence and work is situated on the unceded and sovereign lands of the Yugambeh-speaking peoples, who are part of the Bundjalung Nation within the Gold Coast region.

We also pay our respects to the traditional custodians, the Turrbal and Jagera peoples of Meeanjin (Brisbane), and the Dharawal people of the Dharug lands in Western Sydney. We extend our respect to their cultures and elders, both past and present, and we share this respect with all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today and in the future.

Additionally, we pay our respects to the local Elders, their ancestors, and all their descendants, both past and present. We acknowledge the contributions of many Aboriginal people from other regions, as well as Torres Strait Islander and South Sea Islander peoples, who now reside in the local area and have made significant contributions to these communities in which we live and work.

We recognise that the land always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
